The Seasons Outreach Lesson begins with a short introduction to seasons by the planetarium instructor.  Students then work in groups with flashlights and small globes simulating the movement of the Earth around the sun. Using this modeling method, students are able to visualize what causes seasons. Students then journal and draw what they observed. The lesson concludes with a summary of seasons lead by the planetarium instructor. 
 

This lesson is designed for grades 4-8.  Approximately 45 minutes are needed to complete the lesson. All materials are provided except one classroom size globe.
