The
Craigmont High School Orchestra has a membership of 35-45 students in Grades
9-12. The orchestra performs annually in the Memphis All-City String
Festival and earns "Excellent" and "Superior" ratings in regional and national
music festivals. Most recently, the orchestra was awarded the "Overall
Orchestra Award" a the Fiesta-Val Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. The
Craigmont Orchestra performs several concerts at school each year, including
graduation in the Spring.
Several students in the orchestra are also members of The All-West Tennessee Honor Orchestra of Memphis, the Tennessee All-State Orchestra, the Memphis Youth Symphony, and various church orchestras in the Memphis area. Graduates of the Craigmont Orchestra have performed with the college orchestras at the University of Memphis, Vanderbilt University, Huntingdon College, Tennessee Technological University, and The University of Mississippi. The Craigmont Orchestra is supported in part by The Craigmont Instrumental Music Association, an active group of dedicated parent boosters. |
