Students who want a quiet place to read or study are free to visit the library during their unscheduled time or during class time with the permission of their teacher and a library pass. Students who want to chat or to play should find a more appropriate place. Use of the library is a privilege, not a right, and students must respect the library and its rules to retain that privilege. All school regulations apply in the library, including the computer use policy.

Library Policies:
1. Books may be checked out for two weeks and may be renewed for another two weeks.
2. The fine for standard overdue books is 10 cents per day.
3. Students should return overdue books and pay fines in a timely manner.
4. The replacement cost of the book will be charged for lost book.

Rules for Using Library Computers:
Currently there are twenty five (25) internet computers available for student use in the library. Students will be asked to sign a daily log for internet use. Do NOT ALTER the computer set-up in any way. Leave it as you found it. Do NOT shut down the computer when you are finished.
You may print from these computers in black ink. The fee is 10 cents per page. For further information, refer to the complete COMPUTER USE POLICY. Use of the school computer equipment is a privilege that may be revoked if is abused.

Equipment
Teachers may check out equipment such as DVD’s, VCR’s, cassette players, etc., on a daily basis. You may also receive equipment ahead of time. Projection lamps are available in the library. Broken equipment and non-working equipment should be sent to the library. The Memphis City Schools Video Collection is online.

Teachers
You may send up to five students during class time with a library pass for each student. You may bring the entire class after reserving the library in advance.
